When it comes to your car, there are three main parts, and you want to do your best to preserve each one of them and to keep your car running well and looking good. Learn about the three main parts in this article and educate yourself on some of the things you can do to help keep them in the best possible condition:
The exterior – When it comes to the exterior of your car, you want to make sure you do your best to keep the body, the windows and the tires in great condition. When it comes to the body, you should avoid parking under trees or in crowded sections of parking lots to decrease the likeliness of the paint getting scratched or the car itself getting a ding in it. Protect your windows by not parking under areas where heavy objects can hit them and don't tailgate the vehicles ahead of you. Have your tires rotated and balanced per the suggested mileage and make sure you have the proper amount of air pressure in them at all times.
The interior – The interior of your car is also important and an area you want to keep in great shape. You want to put up a sun visor in the windshield when you are going to be parked in the sun for a good period of time. You also want to use seat covers on the seats to protect them from damages caused by the sun as well as by people getting in and out of the car. Something as simple as a pencil in someone's pocket can cause a lot of damage to a seat when they go to sit down. The seat covers will also make it easier for you to clean the car because you won't have things going down in the cracks of the seat you can have a hard time vacuuming out.
The motor – Of course, the motor and other working parts of your car are of extreme importance. You want to make sure you always take your car in to have the tune ups and oil changes done on time. You also want to check on all of the fluids yourself, on a regular basis. You should always have fluids kept in your garage for times when you find the car is low, so you can fill them without driving the car to the auto parts store before bringing them up to a healthy level again.
